Made it to Amarillo around 5:30. We’ve been to the Big Texan Restaurant several times so decided to try one of The Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that Guy features on his show. It looked really rough on outside and on inside maybe even rougher. They serve bottles of drinks out of a bathtub , you must pay in cash and there are only about 12 tables. Saying the burger was great is an understatement and the cheese fries well , they were off the chart! If you ever are driving through I HIGHLY recommend you give it a try. The temperature got up to 100 but it’s been a beautiful day. Came a shower about 7 tonight and cooled things off some. We should reach cooler weather by tomorrow.
