Sunday at South Fork Baptist Church

We haven driven 2,600 miles and go to South Fork Baptist today and meet Lynn Clayton , who wrote for Baptist Message and did service for our pastors dad’s funeral service. The missionary , Jim Perkins, from Uganda , grew up his first 12 years in Gregg’s hometown of Elizabeth. What are the odds?

The pastors message was on “What the church can learn from geese”.

1. Our group should grow like a flock. They illustrate the concept of fellowship. Geese fly 71% further as a group. Acts 1:2

2. Should share the workload. As leader gets tired he moves to back to rest on air lift of wings of others in front of it. Rotate so all take turns in the work then no one wears out and have joy. 1 Corinthians 12

3. Be an encouragement. It’s believed they honk to encourage each other. 1 Thessalonians 5:10-11

4. Share each other’s burdens. Joy is doubled and strife is halved.

When a goose falls 2 geese follow it down and wait til returns to flight or dies before leaving. Galatians 6:2

So (church) people will flock to be a part of the work. Church joins together in unity and shares Jesus to community.

Fished late afternoon. Jackie caught 2 brown trout. One was about 14″, a nice one. No picture🙁. Sat by fire 🔥 and had Shish-kabobs and Dutch Oven peach cobbler.
