Coeur d’Alene ,Idaho & Spokane, Washington

We took Tubbs Trail when we arrived in Coeur d’Alene. It goes beside the lake downtown but seems so secluded. (Got to stay hydrated as a friend reminded me)

Do you see the paragliding in the above picture?

We were able to watch a plane take off out of the lake.

We then walked downtown to eat at Capone’s. Diners, Drive-ins and Dives did a segment on them . We’ve been to several he has had on tv. A Hawaiian hamburger-beef, Canadian bacon, Swiss cheese and pineapple. YUM! I only ate half so I could get a – are you ready for this- malted vanilla toffee chocolate chip ice cream cone from Abi’s. It was my all time favorite, even over Canada’s black walnut now moving down to the #2 spot. I hope I walked enough not to cause too much damage.

Spokane ‘s waterfalls were also downtown where they were having a hoop fest. ( basketball)

On our way back we stopped in Wallace to read about the Sunshine mining accident of 1972. A light stays shining on the hard hat of the statue of the miner. I try to imagine working in those cold dark tunnels, I really don’t see how they could.

We found this one lane trestle bridge while we were searching for a fishing spot and headed back at end of the day to see the sunset over the mountain. (At 9:30 pm doesn’t get dark til about 10)

A tunnel and nighttime are two very dark places. I’ve never been a fan of darkness. I use to run and jump in the bed , to prevent whatever was under there from grabbing my ankles. As I’ve grown and matured(? ) I’ve got grown up fears maybe not of a monster under my bed but fears just the same. The difference is , now I have reminders, that fear doesn’t need to be a part of my life.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 56:3-4 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

In God, whose word Ipraise—

in God I trust and am not afraid.

What can mere mortals

do to me?
