We left home at 3:30 this morning for our 5:00a.m. flight. The weather was clear and 70°. Had a couple of glitches but nothing serious. Arrived at 8:00 a.m. ,10:00 at home.
Dwayne and Patty are traveling with us and we are so excited. We can’t wait to make some great memories!
Traveling to places I’ve never been, taking my fill of the clean air by being immersed inside a deep forest or climbing to the top of a mountain to see the wonder in the wide expanse gives me a sense of contentment and a call for praise. Every time I remove myself from the distractions that compete for my attention , I’m able to reset my mind and even remind myself to be thankful for blessings that are back home.
In the New Testament I’m drawn to the times when I see that Jesus spent a lot time retreating to the mountains and wonder if he had this feeling too. He could see so much from there ,being able to enjoy His creation as he meditated and prayed. We have so many words, so much noise, but the serenity in silence, resting in the quiet is good for my soul. I’m thankful for family,& friends back home but oh how thankful I am to our Creator, for these times, getting away, immersing myself in His beauty,feeling the gentle breeze, watching a flowing brook,or sitting atop a mountain viewing the range.
It’s during these times and places that His presence is before me being seen and felt in a real and unhindered way . This removing myself , getting away, and spending time in nature makes it the easiest example of His to follow.
