The other day Sheri told me a story about a man that got on a bus. When he paid the fare the driver gave him his change back , it was 25 cents too much. The man struggled with returning it , since it was such a small amount but in the end his conscience won out. When he told the driver and tried to return it, the driver said it was not a mistake and ask if he was the new pastor of the church in town. “ why yes I am” the man answered. The bus driver explained he had been thinking of going to the church but wondered about the new pastor and was testing his convictions. The pastor got off the bus and leaned on a nearby pole to keep from falling and said” dear Lord I almost gave you away for a quarter .“
We are in a part of the United States where 92% of this state are not followers of Christ. Being a nonbeliever and unchurched is very foreign to us. Morning bible study , praying at meals in public and having the support of a church family are unknown to most of the people in this area , and are just a few things that pop to the top of my mind .Thank you God for the treasure of my salvation, for your written word, a personal relationship with you, and my church family.
As I come in contact and meet new people help me to remember that the things I say and do should draw them to you.
